We thankless and selfish people of India:

We thankless and selfish people of India:
I have deliberately put these titles of what I am going to write about us Indians as described.
Actually after independence we were not in good shape economically as well as socially because of influx of mass population across the border. Infrastructure was limited to mostly urban areas while rural areas were inaccessible in most of parts of the country. Problems were plenty.
Then PM J L Nehru rightly so, chose socialist model for us. Intentions may be right at that time so that standard of living of people may improve. But it should have been dissolved with the passage of time to free market economy.
It continued till the Congress led by Nehru- Gandhi ruled this country. Actually Congress led by this family saw an opportunity following this model to consolidate their vote banks by keeping poor as they are, by offering dole by governments from time to time in the shape of freebies. Who can forget long Qs for basic necessities like sugar, cooking oil, fuel etc etc.. Till Rajiv Gandhi was PM of this great nation; he carried forward the policies of his mother but with lollipops to aspiring young educated population.
People usually forget PV Narsimha Rao, another Congressi who was the pioneer in bringing India as a part of global economy. India, as we see today is due to policies adopted by him amidst dwindling economy at that time.
But the PROBLEM as discussed in heading of this blog still remains. We still are ready to admit the institution of CORRUPTION as way of life,as evident from the way, implementation of demonetization and GST were ridiculed by common ourselves. Let come to demonetization first; Why do some people are still baffled by this idea?
What did govt instruct at that time?
It said if you have currency notes in your possession, deposit in the banks; that’s all. What was WRONG in this call? Actually most of these reserves came to banking system either by parking it fraudulently or by some other means. They are being investigated and heavy penalties imposed till date.
Now I tell why some chaps are still disturbed; because this exercise of demonetization has exposed the content of parallel cash economy to some extent which is huge now as well. It dented the real estate sector where dirty money is usually parked. Common man is now able to think of having his dream home as the prices have stumbled down and stagnant as well.
Now come to GST. Even some educated persons openly criticize it without knowing it in detail. After all GST is another form of tax.
What’s wrong in this?
Shouldn’t we pay direct as well as indirect taxes for the development of our nation?
I TELL YOU …. Most of us Indians are SELFISH and THANKLESS people as narrated in the headline. I would also add HYPOCRITE to the traits possessed by them.
 WHY?
We want government to serve us with freebies.
We will find ways to AVOID taxes.
We will accept corruption if it helps in achieving our invalid interest. We don’t mind. Because moral and financial corruption run in our DNA through generations.  I usually say that most of us (including myself) are corrupt people; level best known to us . We usually blame others for our problem that has become habit. We admit corruption as a way of life.
In my views, government of the day should act as facilitator; that a common man grow to such level so that he is able to afford the luxuries available according to his means. This bullshit ideas like “Free Electricity or Free Water “sickens me.

ABSURD THEME OF WAQT (1965), A DELIBERATE PLOY?

In the 1965 film Waqt, the choice of an earthquake as the catalyst for family separation is often cited as "absurd" or "flimsy" because it serves as a sanitized metaphor for the Partition of India. Critics and film scholars highlighted the following reasons for this perceived absurdity in the past as well Avoidance of Political Sensitivity: At the time of its 1965 release, India was in the midst of war with Pakistan. Filmmakers used the earthquake to evoke the mass displacement and trauma of 1947 without directly addressing the politically charged and communal violence of Partition. Dubious reason of Long-Term Separation: Critics argue that while an earthquake causes immediate chaos, it rarely results in family members being scattered to completely different cities (Bombay, Delhi) and remaining lost to each other for decades in a way that Partition-era migration did. Thematic Focus on Fate: The earthquake aligns with the movie’s title (Waqt meaning "Tim...

Left Liberal is an oxymoron

In today's politically polarized landscape, the term "left liberal" often finds itself in the midst of heated debates. Critics argue that being a left-leaning liberal is paradoxical due to the inherent conflict between leftist ideologies, capitalist systems, and associations with Islamists. Here I would like to explore whether the label of "left liberal" is indeed contradictory in nature. How they think-- When we identify someone as a leftist, we usually understand them to advocate for social equality, justice, and a more egalitarian society. Historically, leftists aim to dismantle oppressive systems, promote workers' rights, and bring about progressive social change. Now argument is that this ideology inherently clashes with the concept of liberalism, which upholds individual freedom and limited government intervention. However we sometimes equate these people with communist ideology with a heavy dose of socialism. But it is just 180 degree opposite. ...

Wokeism, Indian and global perspective

To be completely honest, until I started using Twitter, I had never heard of WOKEISM or WOKE people when I first started using social media, which was about 14 years ago. Twitter in fact provided me with a window into what the rest of the world believes. I was unable to find the definition of "Wokeism" in either my preferred Webster's or Chamber's dictionaries. To my surprise, I found it in online on dictionary.com/. Wokeism or Woke Culture is defined as the "promotion of liberal progressive ideology and policy as an expression of sensitivity to systemic injustices and prejudices," according to the statement. Some says, it’s origins rooted in African American Vernacular English. It is actually a Left-Liberal(sic) phenomenon . I first began looking for examples of how Woke people behave in other parts of the world, particularly in Europe or North America. Over there, Wokeism is a term derived from the word “woke,” which initially meant being aware of social...
